A survey researcher puts his or her marketing degree to work by designing and conducting the surveys used to gather information. Generally, survey researchers create these surveys for a number of different clients, including government agencies, corporations, and political candidates.

According to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment opportunities for individuals with a marketing degree are expected to grow faster than the average occupation over the next several years. According to the Bureau, the median annual salary for market research analysts was $56,140 in May 2004. The median annual salary of survey researchers was $26,49- that same year.
