After all, if you grew up in a generation before computers were a part of our every day lives, the concept of taking classes online may seem completely foreign to you. The truth is, online classes are growing in popularity and the options for earning degrees online are continually growing.

When enrolling in online classes, it is important to note that not all online classes work the same. Some online classes simply provide you with text online that you are responsible for reading and for answering questions on. While taking online classes allows for more flexibility than taking classes in a brick and mortar institution, you will still be expected to meet certain deadlines. Usually, you will know about upcoming assignments and their due dates from the very beginning, so you can work ahead if desired. In this way, if you know you will be away for a period of time, you can have assignments completed without worry about falling behind when you return.

Online classes work very much like traditional classes. You still have an instructor that facilitates discussions with you and your classmates. You still have tests and assignments. You still receive a grade and are expected to participate. The only difference is that it all takes place within the convenience of an online environment.
