Becoming a Massage Therapist – more than just a rub.
Who doesn’t like the feel of a good massage? Massage is often recommended as a form of therapy for people who are recovering from an injury, who have limited mobility, stress, tension and pain. Because of the growing understanding of massage therapy’s benefits for healing, this field is growing. Becoming a certified massage therapist is an interesting and rewarding career path. Schools teach students key competencies in Kinesiology, Sports Massage, Muscle Testing, Allied Therapeutic Modalities, Swedish Massage, and the History of Massage/Effects of Massage. Many graduates go on to work in spas, clinics, sports clinics, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and some even open their own private practice and run their own businesses.
