It seems like there’s trouble afoot in the world of fashion. If you’re interested in clothing, design, and fashionista Victoria Beckham, listen up: there’s a full-out war between supermodel Heidi Klum and Harvey Weinstein, executive producer of “Project Runway”!

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the show (are there any of these people left in the world?), “Project Runway” is a Peabody Award-winning reality show where contestants compete to create the best and most fashionable clothes. With the exception of a short stint in Paris back in Season 3, the show is primarily filmed on location at Parsons: The New School for Design, which can boast of notable alumni like designers Donna Karen and Anna Sui. Many of the show’s contestants are students at New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology, where Michael Kors and Calvin Klein study.

So, future designers take note: there’s LOTS of publicity and money to be made by going to design school! However, it seems that the show that brought the fashion industry into the spotlight—namely, “Project Runway”—is being kept from the airwaves!

“Project Runway” has been going strong since premiering on Bravo back in 2004, but an epic falling-out between Weinstein and NBC is keeping the next season in limbo. Weinstein wants the next season to air on Lifetime instead of Bravo, but the good folks over at Bravo are busy attempting to stop the show’s transfer in court. All this legal business is preventing the next season from airing, which is causing Klum (and the rest of us “Runway” fans) to become increasingly frustrated.

To make matters worse, Weinstein might have been engaging in some shady deals. Court papers reveal that he was busy occupying himself with “sham negotiations”—conducting deals with Lifetime while promising NBC the rights to the show. When Lifetime announced a $150 million five-year deal for “Project Runway” and future spin-offs, the NBC executives are taking matters into their own hands and suing the Oscar-winning producer. We’re all hoping that this mess will resolved quickly so that we can return to our weekly dose of the fabulous Tim Gunn.

So, there you have it. The last episode of “Project Runway” was filmed during fashion week back in February of 2009, but not a single segment of the newest season has yet to be shot. Although Weinstein has promised his loyal viewers that the show will be aired as soon as possible, we’re getting pretty impatient. Klum urged fans to protest her executive producer, telling reporters that “I think people should be demonstrating outside of Harvey Weinstein’s house. If it were up to me, it’d be on by now.”

Do you hear that, Harvey? If you don’t get your act together, a bunch of Tim Gunn wannabes are going to storm your house. And it won’t be pretty!

So, all you “Project Runway” fans, get your fighting gloves out! Let’s help Heidi Klum restore “Project Runway” to its proper network by taking some action. Let’s get our favorite reality TV show back on the air!

Harvey better listen up! Fans won’t put up with bad fashion, let alone bad management. While the show has lost some of it’s real intention, which is to find the best designer, and has started to focus on whiney designer personalities themselves, I still think it’s a great show. Don’t make us have to watch America’s Top Model and RuPaul’s drag race instead, please!

I’m going to college to study fashion design and what I don’t understand is why the show seems to focus on the designers rather than the talent. That aside, what is Harvey doing? Surely there has to be some kind of miscommunication and this can’t all be true. It’s blatently ridiculous.
