Everyone Needs a Plumber

The work is only going to get better. You may have heard of companies and especially the government’s environmental pledges to “go green”. First you may not already know but the plumbing industry includes a large array of different jobs. Besides plumbing many of those who classify themselves as plumbers also work as pipelayers, pipefitters, and steamfitters. New construction and continuing maintenance fuel the plumbing market and holding the necessary knowledge and skills in this industry can provide job security that there will always be work and money coming in.
Most plumbers also belong to unions that guarantee certain pay and benefits. Some of these unions require plumbers to have the education from a plumbing college.
The Schooling
Plumbing school usually is at a two year technical school or community college. In plumbing school course content may include math, physics, safety, industrial and plumbing codes and other skills like learning how to interpret blue prints and hands on experience. Those learning to become plumbers generally start learning in a classroom environment but quickly can go to apprenticeships where they will learn right on the job. It is important to do research when choosing a plumbing school. Now you can study from the comfort of your own home through online instruction. Other things to consider are whether the schools offer specialties or a general education.
