A Career in the Electric Field Leads to a Bright Future
Are you looking for a career path with a promising future? If so, you might want to seriously consider pursuing a career as an electrician. The field has long been one of stability, but the recent push toward electrically-powered vehicles and other uses of electric power have made the field even more promising.
Environmentalists have long been pushing for increased production and usage of electric cars, but the trend toward electricity has picked up speed since President Obama took office. Ever since his campaign for the presidency, Obama has been pushing for increased use of solar energy and wind energy in order to reduce our dependency upon fossil fuels. In addition, he has pushed for tougher standards with the car manufacturers. As a result, General Motors, Toyota and other major car companies have been aggressively working toward developing electric hybrids. In fact, General Motors has made plans to sell the electrically-powered Volt next year.
Although there is a major push for the development and manufacture of electrically-powered vehicles, the car manufacturers have had one major problem: developing electrically-powered vehicles that can go a long distance before needing to be recharged. The most advanced electric car currently on the market is the Tesla Roadster, and it can only go 250 miles on one charge. All other electric vehicles, however, go only about 50 miles on a charge. As a result, many people who are interested in electric vehicles have stayed away from them out of fear of being stranded before they find a new charging station.
So, what does this mean for you? If you have an interest in electricity, you just might be the one to find the answer the car manufacturers are looking for. And, with electricity being the wave of the future, you will be certain to have plenty of employment opportunities on the horizon for years to come!
