The Stimulus Act Will Create Construction Management Jobs
The Stimulus Act is designed to boost the ailing economy and create new jobs – and construction management is one industry that will stand the benefits! President Obama is committed to rebuilding our nation, literally, and as a construction manager you could be behind the scenes, directing and planning a construction project.
Our nation’s infrastructure is in desperate need of repair. We must revamp our roads, bridges, rail lines, air traffic control, maritime transportation, water systems, and create a smart electric grid. The Stimulus Act sets aside up to $135 billion for infrastructure projects.
The Associate General Contractors of America predict that the Stimulus Act will produce or rescue 1.85 million jobs, including 640,000 in construction and 300,000 among suppliers and equipment manufacturers. With so much construction work to take place, there is indeed a demand for construction managers to oversee large construction projects during this time.
Indeed, the number of job opportunities available in construction management is expected to outnumber the number of qualified candidates through till 2016! Take the time out during the recession to receive the proper training and skills necessary to become certified. You can help contribute to this growing demand within the construction industry and address these infrastructure challenges.
Other vocational jobs will also be created, so if you want to get your hands dirty consider becoming a welder, electrician, or even a plumber!
