Will “Harry Potter” Actress Attend an American College?
Emma Watson– the British starlet who shot to fame playing Hermione Granger in the “Harry Potter” movies—has made no secret of her desire to attend an American university.

As her days playing a straight-A student at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry draw to a close, Watson has set her sights on an Ivy League college like Columbia, Brown, or Cornell (eCornell) University. But will she give up her acting to pursue her dreams of the Ivy Tower? The “Potter” actress has repeatedly insisted that she’s capable of juggling a Hollywood career and keeping up with her classes.
“At U.S. universities you’re encouraged to be broad and choose many different subjects,” the actress told this month’s Interview magazine. Watson, who plans to study English literature and art, even wants to live in a freshman dorm with a roommate, despite the fact that her co-star, Daniel Radcliffe, told her the idea was crazy.
We can’t wait to see Watson on American shores! We especially love her insistence that she is perfectly capable of working and learning at the same time! Take note, Top-Colleges students: you don’t have to stop working and earning a living in order to pursue higher education.
Watson said it best herself, explaining that “there’s been a lot of confusion in the media that university is mutually exclusive, that I can’t act as well as study at the same time, and I seem to have managed it okay up to this point, so that’s what I hope to continue to do.”
Best of luck, Emma!
