Ted Kennedy on Improving Education

Watch the late Massachusetts senator, Ted Kennedy, discuss his ideas about improving education in America. If you are taking out loans to pay for your college tuition, you should definitely check out this video. As Kennedy said, “if you’re a person who is able to get admission to a college, cost should not be a barrier for it. And when you graduate, debt should not be a barrier for your ability to make a contribution to your country.”

Kennedy’s dream was to enact a loan forgiveness program for the college graduates who want to have an impact on their community. His requirements for the program were very broad: “it may be as a teacher. It may be as a nurse. It may be as a prosecutor. It may be as a legal defender. It may be as a childcare worker. It may be working with special needs children. It may be working on an Indian reservation.” Will his dream become a reality in the Obama administration?
