Here Comes the Beatles!
With a little help from one of the biggest bands on the planet, the video game industry is breaking records. The new Beatles: Rock Band game is set to be released this Wednesday September 9, 2009 by Harmonix which coincides with the release of new and remastered CD versions of all of their previous albums. The game lets players sing and strum along to a huge list of Beatle’s classics over digitalized scenes of their performances. Musically, the track list outlines the Beatles career beginning with “I Saw Her Standing There” at the Cavern Club in Liverpool England to their final performance on a London rooftop. The $250 Beatles premium bundle includes a few extra microphones this time around so gamers can reproduce the band’s three part harmony.
The video game industry is now bigger than the music business. With releases of the Xbox 360, the Wii and the PlayStation 3 in the past few years, the video game industry is taking over. Video game analysts are anticipating that the end of 2009 will bring even more success not just because of the new Beatles: Rock Band game but also Blockbusters like Nintendo’s upcoming remake of the classic “Super Mario Brothers” for the Wii and Activison Blizzard Inc’s “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.”
And it doesn’t stop there! The following is set to be released in 2010…
“Bioshock 2” (Take-Two Interactive Software)
“Splinter Cell: Conviction” (Ubisoft)
“StarCraft II” (Activision)
“DJ Hero” (Activision)
“Band Hero” (Activision)
