By the time October rolls around every year children and adults alike are gripped in costume mania. Colleges and Universities worldwide often play host to some of the best and most original costumes; largely due to the fact that college students have an abundance of free time and seek any outlet to showcase their creativity and individuality.

Costumes can be bought from outlets like Half Price Costumes or can be lovingly assembled by the wearer. Either way, college students have firmly reclaimed Halloween from the kids and churn out original costumes every year. You don’t have to be a student of arts or design to create a great costume.
Check out these 5 costume ideas:
1. Six Pack
Grab five friends
Find several large cardboard boxes
Stick the boxes together so they resemble a six pack carrier
Paint the box to resemble your favorite brand of beer, Corona, Budweiser, etc.
With some garbage bags, paints, more cardboard and a little imagination, make “bottle” costumes
Stand in each slot.
2. Cereal Killer
Start by obtaining a large cardboard box.
Cut head and arm holes to fit you.
Paint the box white.
Choose your favorite, most recognizable brand of cereal: Corn Flakes, Rice Krispies etc.
Ask an arty friend to draw and paint your cardboard box to resemble a giant box of cereal. Alternatively, photocopy and blow up the back and front covers of a cereal box and stick to the large cardboard box.
Make of buy a knife and cover it liberally with fake blood.
Your outfit as a “Cereal Killer” is complete!
3. Chest of Drawers
Find a large box.
Cut head and arm holes to fit you.
Paint the Box brown.
Paint drawers on the box.
Stick socks and underwear on the drawers.
Your outfit as a chest of drawers is complete!

4. Toy soldier
Find or buy combat trousers, boots, a combat jacket, an army helmet and toy gun.
Paint all the items green.
Paint your face green.
Find a heavy cardboard box.
Paint it green.
Cut out a shape like a figure 8.
Attach to your shoes (this will make walking difficult.)
Pose. Your outfit as a toy soldier is complete!
5. Milk Carton
Again, find one large, or two cardboard boxesCut out arm holes to fit you.
Taper one end of the box to resemble a milk carton.
Cut out a face hole.
Paint the box to resemble a milk carton
Paint the words “Have you seen me?” Under your face.
Your outfit as a milk carton is complete!
