Online Education Reaches More Students

President Obama has made it clear on many occasions: he wants to see more of us heading back to school. After all, the better educated our population becomes, the better our country will be able to compete in this global economy. Unfortunately, many people are struggling with finding ways to head back to school. Not only can it be expensive to go to school, but finding the time to travel back and forth and to fit classes into a busy schedule can be difficult if not impossible. Thanks to online education, however, a greater number of people are able to obtain a college education.

The facts are clear: brick and mortar colleges and universities have fixed schedules that can be quite inconvenient to fit into a schedule that already includes taking care of family, working and other responsibilities. With the flexibility that online schools provide, however, more people are able to find a way to fit school into their schedules.

Another reality is that many people do not live near to colleges or universities. Or, for those who do live near to a campus, the degree programs that are offered may not align with their career goals. For others, driving back and forth to a brick and mortar university may be too time consuming or expensive in terms of purchasing fuel or paying for other travel expenses.
