The hottest new singing sensation, Leona Lewis, rose to fame after winning the singing competition game show the X-Factor. Before her stardom, she was dating her long time boyfriend who happens to be an electrician. After her meteoric rise to success, the media has asked her incessantly if she is planning on remaining with him, a question to which she answers the same way every time – YES.

She recently told The Guardian, “I find it very offensive. It’s offensive to him — implying he’s not good enough for you any more — but also to you — saying you’re so shallow you’d dump him when you became successful. … For people to think that you should leave someone because, all of a sudden, you’re a singer and you have opportunities. I feel very sorry for them.”

She calls her long term boyfriend her best friend, and thinks that being an electrician is an honorable trade. It seems that she’s not the only one. Pamela Anderson recently created a lot of buzz when she was seen dating an electrician over the summer. Pictures of her and her man immediately stormed the internet and people were shocked that she would be with a blue collar guy. They shouldn’t be.
It seems no shocker that women would want to be with strong and capable men who know how to use their hands. Also, the humbleness of these handymen is probably refreshing compared to the egotism of Hollywood and the music industry.

Lewis told the paper, “Because he’s a great person. And it doesn’t matter what you do in life, what your job is, where you come from. None of that matters to me, what matters is who you are as a person — nothing else.”
