An Insider’s Perspective; Q&A with Your Peers.

Recently we sat down with Kate S., a current student, and Tim J., a graduate, from two different career colleges to get a feel for what real students think about their experience in these kinds of colleges. Here is what they had to say.

Q - Was going to college always a goal for you?

Kate - Going to a University had always been my plan. However, after I had my son I found that a four year college was too time consuming and had over sized classes where I probably wouldn’t be noticed by the professors. When I requested information from a few two year career colleges, the specialized program and the fact that it can take under 2 years to graduate really appealed to me.

Tim - I never had an expectation about going to college. My parents didn’t go to college and because I slacked off in high school I didn’t think I could get into a University anyway. It wasn’t until I was 30 that I realized I really didn’t like my job and was wishing I would have at least tried to get a higher education. So I did some research and found that a career college was really suited for someone like me who might have not done their best in high school and had been out of the education game for so long.
