ASSOCIATES DEGREES:
- Accounting Specialist
The Accounting Specialist Program is designed to meet the needs of those students who work in the accounting field or who are presently employed and want to complete additional accounting courses beyond the diploma level. This program has a special emphasis on combining accounting theory and practice with the microcomputer. Upon graduation and with two years of experience, you will be encouraged to sit for the Certified Bookkeeper (CB) national certification.
- Administrative Office Management
Students gain hands-on experience in database management, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics, accounting, business management, communication skills and more.
- Criminal Justice
This associate degree in Criminal Justice is offered online and on campus (or a combination of both. The program will help you succeed in a variety of criminal justice positions, including courtroom administrator, police officer, private security officer, probation or parole officer, juvenile delinquency case manager, corrections officer, police detective, industrial security, commercial security, or homeland security.
- Healthcare Reimbursement
Students learn all of the fundamentals of medical office protocol and get specialized training in Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), International Classification of Diseases (ICD), and Health Care Financing Administration Common Procedural Coding System (HCPCS). You will also serve an externship for on-the-job training. You’ll be supervised by a physician, nurse, or health services professional and learn the billing and coding process from the working perspective.
- Human Resource Management
The Human Resource Management program is designed to prepare human resource professionals to deal with the complexities and challenges of managing today’s workforce. The courses show you how to help in the professional development of men and women in the field of human resources.
- Medical Office Administration
Students learn how to assist with communicating with patients and other providers, billing insurance companies, code physician diagnostic comments and orders, and how to work closely with doctors to organize and monitor patient care services. Classes include medical terminology, medical law and ethics, medical laboratory procedures, medical records keeping, business, office automation and customer service.

- Business Administration
The Business Administration program is designed for students who are interested in acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary to perform a variety of administrative functions in the business world. Now, Virginia College offers students a chance to apply previously earned credit toward completion of a degree.

Virginia College’s bachelor degree in Criminal Justice is offered online and on campus (or a combination of both) to fit the busy schedules of today’s students. - Health Services Management
This program is designed for the individual who wishes to complete a health-based interdisciplinary studies.
Students enrolled in the program choose from an array of daytime and evening courses. A maximum of 90
credits can be transferred. Graduates may find mid-level management positions in healthcare organizations
including hospitals, physician practices, ambulatory care centers, and home health agencies.

- Network Management
The Networking Management bachelor’s program will give you the skills you’ll need for a career in a broad range of private and public sector organizations. - Paralegal Studies

MASTER DEGREES:
- Business Administration

- Criminal Justice
The Master of Science in Criminal Justice (MSCJ) degree is designed to provide an advanced and in-depth study of the criminal justice system from a management and administrative viewpoint. The curriculum includes advanced courses in the different fields of the criminal justice system, including law enforcement, corrections, and juvenile justice, as well as courses that will increase the students’ understanding of criminological theories and social science research. This program is designed to help prepare students to take on leadership and managerial positions at the local, state, and federal levels of the criminal justice system.
In addition to successful completion of all required courses and elective hours, students will be tasked with completion of four comprehensive examinations which will cover specific course materials as a means to fully demonstrate the students’ mastery of the material learned. Students will also complete an Area Paper or a research paper in a field of interest within criminal justice. This project must be completed prior to graduation, and its topic and specifications required must be approved, overseen, and graded by an approved MSCJ faculty member.
- Cybersecurity
Virginia College's master's degree in Cybersecurity is designed to provide you with an in-depth study in IT Infrastructure Security. You will be exposed to and challenged by the most popular aspects of computer security, including cyber-law, cyber-terrorism, forensics, hardening the operating system, viral activity, and compliancy issues. As a graduate of this program, you will be prepared for employment positions involving the security management of a LAN, WLAN, and WAN environments, including our own nation's informational infrastructure.
As part of this exciting program, you will be presented with various simulations and live lab projects to examine the overall security administration and computer forensics of network security in fields such as information security, network administration, and firewall management. The program provides a strong foundation in cryptography, forensics, intrusion detection, and firewall devices. Additional areas of study include hardening among various operating systems, simulated and real-life experience through VPN connections, and security measures applied to perimeter network devices.
