Travel and Tourism Careers!
What’s better than traveling to an exotic
island or visiting a familiar city? A degree in travel
and tourism gives graduates a chance to have a solid
career while venturing to hundreds of exciting locations.
Here’s a quick look at some jobs you can get
with a degree in travel and tourism:
Airline pilots are
intensely trained to fly airplanes for different
types of airlines. It’s imperative that before departure, pilots
plan their flights. They physically check the aircraft to ensure the engines,
controls, instruments and other systems are functioning correctly. Other tasks
include choosing a route, altitude and speed that will provide the safest, smoothest
flight.
Counter Rental clerks advise
customers on use and care of merchandise. They must
be able to give information about availability, operation
or description of rental items. Rental clerks take
orders for rental services, like repairs, cleaning
and storage. These clerks should be very interactive,
enjoy working with people and should be able to handle
difficult customers in a tactful way.
Resort desk managers accommodate
resort patrons by registering and assigning rooms,
issuing room keys, keeping guest records, making
reservations, and presenting statements to and collecting
payments. Since desk managers are always in the public
eye and typically are the first line of customer
service, they must have class and be well spoken.
It’s their attitude and behavior that has the
most impact on guests impressions of the establishment.
